Sponge Compression Set Tester

Short Description:

The sponge compression set tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with ISO 1856 Method A. The sponge specimen is compressed to 50% (or other specified ratio) of its original thickness by the compressor fixture, then placed inside the constant temperature oven set at 70℃. After 22 hours of thermal treatment, remove the compressor, take out the specimen and leave it to recover for 30 minutes. Afterwards measure the specimen thickness and calculate compression set value.

Compression set is defined as the thickness difference between the initial thickness and the final thickness after compression under specified temperature, duration and recovery time, the ratio relative to original thickness.
