Halayen injina na kayan aiki suna nufin halayen injina na kayan aiki a ƙarƙashin yanayi daban-daban (zafin jiki, danshi, matsakaici), ƙarƙashin nau'ikan kaya na waje daban-daban (taurin kai, matsi, lanƙwasawa, juyawa, tasiri, matsin lamba mai canzawa, da sauransu).

Gwajin halayen kayan aikin ya haɗa da tauri, ƙarfi da tsayi, tauri, matsi, yankewa, gwajin torsion da sauransu.

Gwajin tauri yana nufin tauri na Brinell, tauri na Rockwell, tauri na Vickers, da kuma tauri na micro-hardness; Gwajin ƙarfi shine ƙarfin samarwa da ƙarfin tauri. Gwajin tauri bisa ga ƙa'idodi:
